Employers often look upon safety and compliance as extremely burdensome issues. However, OSHA proposes a number of ways to improve the safety at the workplace and reduce potential fines in a highly non-stressful way. The first step is to establish and implement a good safety program manual that will outline the company’s safety policies and procedures. This step is the most important because it lays the foundation of what an employer has to do to enforce workplace safety. So, if you cannot afford to hire a full-time safety manager, then you can do the following:
Create or buy a workplace safety manual.
Customize the manual to fit in with your company’s requirements.
Make sure you prioritize all those safety policies and procedures that you want to implement.
Review the manual annually and make changes if your operation changes.
